"How do I know if my family is eligible for WPCP?"
If you are applying for the first time, there are a few requirements that your family must meet in order to qualify for the program. Here are a few ways to know if your student is eligible to participate in this program...
Meet the Age Requirements
All students must be between the ages of 4 - 20 on or before September 1st. Keep in mind AJA only offers kindergarten for those of age 5 by September 1st. For those applying to Kindergarten, students must be 5 years old; students applying for 1st grade must be at least 6.
Meet Attendance Requirements
Your student must meet at least one of the following criteria in order to be eligible:
- Attended a public school in Wisconsin prior to applying
- Attended school in another state
- Were not enrolled in school (including homeschool for the entire school year prior to applying)
- Participated in the MPCP, RPCP or WPCP
- Are on a waiting list for MPCP, RPCP, or WPCP
Meet Income Requirements
Your family income must meet certain criteria in order to be eligible. When you apply, you have two different ways to very your family income through the Department of Revenue or through
a list of questions on the application. You can find income requirement information here:
"What happens after I apply?"
Parents will receive a confirmation email after they submit an application with information about the supporting documentation parents must provide to AJA.
